Print file preparation

A correctly prepared file is the basis of a high-quality print. Check your file against these rules before sending it.

Print file requirements

  • Size or scale

    The file must be at the original size or proportionally reduced at a scale of 1:10 or 1:100.

  • Text as curves

    All text must be converted to curves (Convert to curves or Create outlines).

  • Image resolution

    Images must be at least 300 dpi.

  • Embedded images

    Images must be saved inside the file (embedded).

  • CMYK colours

    We print in the CMYK colour palette, so before sending the file make sure it is prepared in or converted to CMYK.

  • Cut lines

    Submit sheet print layouts with crop marks and stickers with plotter cut lines.

  • 3 mm bleed

    Add 3 mm bleed outside the cut line. Elements that run to the very edge must continue into the bleed.

  • File format

    Submit print files as PDF, EPS or TIFF.

  • Check and JPG preview

    After saving, check that everything in the file is correct and create a JPG preview.
