Cutting and engraving are different operations
Laser cutting follows the outer or inner contour of a part in a suitable material. Laser engraving removes or alters the surface layer to create text, logos, numbering or graphics.
Shape cutting: for shapes, small parts and model or prototype parts. Surface marking: for engraved plates and signs, logos and markings.
Both can be combined in one part: for example, cutting out a plate and engraving text or a logo on it in the same job.
What else we engrave
Engraving other surfaces
On glass and glassware (glasses, bottles), ceramics, marble, tiles, anodised aluminium and metal with or without a paint coating we can engrave text, logos and decorative patterns.
Images and photos
We can engrave logos and text as well as drawings and photos: if it can be printed, it can be engraved. The higher the image quality, the better the engraving.
What affects price and production time
File geometry, material and processing scope determine the quote.
Cut path length
Longer contours and many internal cut-outs increase machine time.
Engraved area
A large filled engraving takes longer than small text or line work.
Material
Materials cut and engrave differently; unfamiliar material is tested first.
Part quantity
In a series, setup work is spread over more parts, so the price per part is lower than for a one-off.
File readiness
Open contours, duplicate lines or unseparated engraving must be fixed before production. A ready file saves this time.
Exact price and timing are confirmed after checking the vector file and material.
Important before ordering
Material assessment
We confirm work on unknown, coated or customer-supplied material after reviewing its composition and a sample.
Metal
We engrave logos, text and markings on metal with or without a paint coating and on anodised aluminium; we check the result on a sample first.
What we make with laser cutting and engraving
Engraved plates and signs
We make engraved plates and signs for doors, equipment or displays from engraving laminates, acrylic, wood or metal on an Epilog Fusion M2 40 laser. Send the list of texts and the plate sizes.
Logos and markings
We also engrave logos and markings on glass and glassware, ceramics, marble, tiles, anodised aluminium and metal with or without a paint coating once a sample test confirms suitability.
Decorative elements
We cut decorative elements with fine contours from plywood, acrylic or leather and add engraving where needed. A large filled engraving area takes longer than line work.
Wood and acrylic parts
The laser cuts wood and acrylic parts along closed vector contours, so separate cutting and engraving lines into layers or colours. For thicker parts CNC milling may be the better choice.
Small shapes and elements
We cut small shapes and elements such as tags, tokens or souvenir parts in a handful of copies or in series. With larger quantities, the setup work is shared across all parts.
Personalised parts
We engrave personalised parts with names, numbering or dates on wood, leather, acrylic or engraving laminates. Send a table with the text for each item and convert fonts to outlines.
Model and prototype parts
We cut model and prototype parts from cardboard, paper, plywood or acrylic from DXF, DWG, AI, SVG or PDF files. Unfamiliar material is tested on a sample before production.
Engraved images and photos
Besides logos and text, we can engrave drawings and photos: if it can be printed, it can be engraved. PDF, AutoCAD, CDR, EPS, AI and JPG files are suitable; the higher the image quality, the better the result.

Laser-engraved pens
We make laser-engraved pens with your logo, name or text, for example as personalised gifts or company souvenirs. Send the logo or text and the quantity you need.
Stamp dies
We make stamp dies by laser engraving high-quality rubber on the Epilog Fusion M2 40. Stamps can be round, oval, square or rectangular, in Trodat or more economical Shiny housings; see Stamps for details.
Materials and suitability
On the Epilog Fusion M2 40 we cut wood, acrylic, polycarbonate, APETG, cork, paper materials, fabrics, leather, rubber and foams. We can also engrave metal with or without a paint coating, anodised aluminium, glass and glassware, ceramics, marble and tiles. The suitability of each material is confirmed before production.
Wood
Plywood, MDF, solid wood, bamboo and wooden items.
Cutting and engraving
Plastics
Acrylic (plexiglass), polycarbonate, APETG, engraving laminates.
Cutting; acrylic and laminates are also engraved
Fabrics and leather
Fabric, felt, leather, faux leather.
Cutting; fabric and leather are also engraved
Paper materials
Cardboard, paper, corrugated cardboard.
Cutting and engraving
Cork, rubber and foams
Cork, rubber, foam, EVA foam.

Glass and ceramics
Glass sheets, glasses, bottles, ceramics, stone and marble, tiles.
Engraving
Metal
Metal with or without a paint coating, anodised aluminium.
Engraving
If your material is not on this list, send us its composition or a sample and we will check whether it can be safely cut or engraved.
How ordering works
Vector file check
We make sure cut contours are closed, duplicate lines are removed and engraving is separated from the cut lines.
Material test
On unfamiliar or customer-supplied material we try the cutting and engraving settings on an offcut to see the edge and engraving tone.
Cutting or engraving
The job runs on an Epilog Fusion M2 40 laser (75 W, work area 1000 × 700 mm); glass, ceramics, marble, tiles and metal are engraved.
Cleaning and packing
After lasering we clean the cut areas and surface, check dimensions and group the parts into sets for collection.
Frequently asked questions
Which materials do you process?
We engrave wood and wooden items, metal with or without a paint coating, anodised aluminium, acrylic, cork, cardboard, paper, glass and glassware, fabric, leather, rubber, ceramics, marble and tiles. We cut wood (plywood, MDF, solid wood, bamboo), acrylic, polycarbonate, APETG, cork, cardboard, paper, corrugated cardboard, fabric, felt, leather, faux leather, rubber, foam and EVA foam. We test other materials before production.
What can be laser cut?
We laser cut precise, fine parts from wood (plywood, MDF, solid wood, bamboo), acrylic, polycarbonate, APETG, cork, cardboard, paper, corrugated cardboard, fabric, felt, leather, faux leather, rubber, foam and EVA foam. Cutting to shape needs a vector file.
Can metal be engraved?
Yes, we engrave metal with or without a paint coating and anodised aluminium. We check the result on a sample first.
Can you engrave a photo?
Yes. We can engrave logos, text, drawings and photos: if it can be printed, it can be engraved. The higher the image quality, the better the result.
What is the maximum size?
The Epilog Fusion M2 40 work area is 1000 × 700 mm, and the maximum engraving height is 342 mm.
Do you accept one-off parts?
Yes, we produce one-off parts, prototypes and repeat runs.
What file should I send?
Cutting needs a vector file: PDF, CDR, EPS, AI or AutoCAD (DWG, DXF); SVG also works. JPG is also fine for engraving. Keep cutting and engraving lines separate.
When is CNC milling more suitable?
CNC may suit thicker parts, mechanical machining or material that should not be laser processed. We advise after reviewing the file.
Have a contour, inscription or part sketch?
Send the vector file, material and quantity. We will check whether cutting, engraving or CNC milling suits the job best.
